Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, John received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Public Administration. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the Atlanta Law School and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1982.
His primary practice areas include Real Property Law, with his focus primarily in residential and commercial real estate closings, title issues and real estate litigation. He also practices in the areas of Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, and Probate, including guardianships and conservatorships, Personal Injury, Business Formation & Business Litigation.
He has served as Guardian Ad Litem in the Superior Court and Probate Court of Gilmer County. He currently serves as The County Administrator for the Gilmer County Probate Court and is also serving as the Public Defender for the City of Ellijay.
